Epic is a highly regarded software system, and Precision is certified in every Epic revenue cycle distinction available. Precision is an expert not only in providing exceptional revenue cycle services on Epic, but also in customizing the setup and rules within Epic that are necessary to achieve superior financial results. Precision’s depth of experience within Epic is best explained through its most recent Epic implementation.
In 2012, a large health system in Houston, Texas established a 501(a) entity and selected Epic as the system to be deployed for the non-profit entity as well as for the hospital. Precision was engaged to lead the Epic revenue cycle implementation and conduct full revenue cycle services on Epic (as well as on hospital legacy systems eClinicalWorks and Encite). Precision began to provide revenue cycle services on all of those systems while it assisted in the setup and implementation of Epic and facilitated the expansion of the 501(a) program to include two additional entities. As the Epic conversion continued through 2012 and into 2013, Precision provided a variety of revenue cycle consulting support services to the health system and the three 501(a) groups.
The resulting Epic conversion for the medical groups was very smoothly conducted and successful by all measures. Following the Epic conversion, Precision continued to recommend and implement additional workflow enhancements and process improvements and worked closely with the providers in all three entities on coding education and training. The specialties represented by the 501(a) groups include OB/GYN, Orthopedics, Cardiology, Oncology, Internal Medicine, Ear and Nose and Throat. The number of medical providers in the health system network continues to grow and efforts directed toward continual improvement of processes and protocols are ongoing.
With changes in meaningful use requirements, Precision stands ready to ensure its clients can embrace these changes through the effective utilization of Epic, and the health system in Houston, Texas can count on Precision to help manage the revenue cycle management and performance for its 501(a) medical groups. Precision is now working with other health systems to utilize Epic to its fullest potential and has the knowledge and resources available to facilitate a successful implementation of Epic for any medical group utilizing the software system.
